WLJ 2017 Weekly Activities day 1 activity 1.

This is one of my weekly activities for Winter Learning Journey Day 1: 100% PURE New Zealand.

three Facts: New Zealand is popular in all other kinds of cultures European, Maori, Pacific Island and Asian cultures and many more. But as we all know that New Zealand is always free to all others and still. Where do you find New Zealand? Well first of all New Zealand is in the Oceania continent.

In 1840 the treaty of Waitangi was signed by the British and Maori people. The first European settlers were sealers and whalers. Back then the European people needed equipment such as timber and flax as for Maori people they needed clothes and survival equipment. both cultures exchanged what they had for what needed.

New Zealand have a cost called "Kauri cost" also know as "Kauri forest". Kauri are tall and strong trees that can grow up to over 100 years. The Kauri forest run from a town of Brynderwyn  right up to the Hokianga Harbour. Also the Kauri cost run along the twin coast Discovery Highway.

Welcome to the Winter Learning Journey programme. It's so cool to see that you've posted your first activity blog for the holidays!

I hope that you enjoyed reading about New Zealand and that you learned some new, interesting facts about our country. I certainly learned new things from reading your post. In fact, I did not know that we have a coast called the 'Kauri Coast.' I will have to venture up north one of these days and go for a drive along the sea. I have always wanted to spend more time in Northland and this will give me a great excuse!

Have you or your family spent much time up north? Would anyone you know have driven along the Kauri coast before?

I hope that you will continue to learn about New Zealand and share your learning on your blog. There is a full week of holidays left and plenty of time to post lots of great blogs!

Hope to see you online again soon,

    Rachel :)
